Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the LORD Thy God

Deuteronomy 6:5 (KJV)  And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 

Loving the LORD wholeheartedly with our whole being. The sum of all our faculties physical and non-physical – the heart where is the seat of our intellect and emotion and discernment, the soul which is the immortal being in us – our entire self-consciousness and our might which encompasses all our strength, both physical and mental.

This is the focus of the spirit-filled child of God. There is a spiritual understanding and drawing near to God propelled by our understanding of who He is, and our realization of our need for Him.

This love is given by Him and enabled by Him but exerted by us. Such fellowship in the divine is precious. It brings us live always for His glory. It overcomes the world and bears witness of God.

May the LORD bless our daily witness as we dwell in His love. Amen.
