Romans 4:25 The Crucifixion and the Resurrection
Romans 4:25 (KJV) Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
The two events of human history that have the most direct impact on the well-being of every soul that ever existed on earth were the crucifixion of Christ and His resurrection from the dead.
The crucifixion of Christ was the event that saw the God of heaven bearing the punishment for our sins on the cross. The wrath of God was upon our Lord Jesus Christ when He bore our sins in those hours of darkness on the cross. All who trust in His atoning work realized their sinfulness and repent, are saved from eternal death.
When Christ rose in the resurrection three days later, it is a proclamation by the Father that this is His beloved Son by whom we can receive salvation by believing in His atoning work. The Son of God has to die because it is the only way to deal with sins. And the resurrection is the proclamation of the fact that God is fully and completely satisfied with the work that His Son did upon the Cross and that sin has been fully dealt with.
Hallelujah! Amen.
