Matthew 11:28 Rest in the LORD

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Jesus bids us come to Him. He calls in particular the heavy-hearted and the burden laden soul. There is rest that Jesus is able to give. This rest unburdens and unladen the soul tossed by life’s billows.

The command to come to Jesus brings blessing to the obedient heart – 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 

This initial call brings blessing to a lifetime cleaving and perpetual blessing – Psalm 62:8 (KJV)  Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. 

This is a rest that calms and strengthens the heart, a rest that brings wisdom and solution to life, a rest that opens itself to an eternal paradise. Amen.
