Lord’s Day, Vol. 10 No. 20
Homegoing of Sister Lucy Ting
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
On the evening of 7 May 2022, Sister Lucy Ting Tin Cho went home to be with the Lord. The Lord took her home peacefully on her rocking chair seated in the living room while she was alone at home. It was an answer to her prayers. There was no suffering. She specifically asked the Lord and the Lord granted the desire of her heart.
Sister Lucy joined as a member of Blessed Hope B-P Church on 5 June 2016.
Testimony
I came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ when my deceased husband was diagnosed with cancer. I thank God for His mercy and for seeing me through these years especially after he was called home to be with the Lord. Throughout these years, He has granted me the strength to go through and the finances to raise my children. I came to know about Blessed Hope B-P Church last year and wanted to come to have a look. But as I was attached to my previous church and my children were there, I didn’t move on. This year, through the encouragement of my daughter, I decided to try out the service. I am very happy here to have an avenue of service. Therefore, I decided after much consideration to transfer my membership to Blessed Hope B-P Church. I pray that the Lord will use me to serve Him faithfully here.
Love in Christ,
Lucy Ting
Sister Lucy served the Lord faithfully. She served in the refreshment ministry preparing delicious meals. She was an excellent cook and the church has been much blessed by her culinary skills.
Sister Lucy came to worship on the Lord’s Day with her son Benjamin Wong. She encouraged Benjamin to seek baptism. Benjamin was baptised on 25 December 2016 after completing catechism classes. Benjamin has been serving faithfully as a church usher.
When the pandemic was at its height at the end of March 2020, the church went online. Sister Lucy continued to worship from home during those ensuing weeks.
On 28 June 2020, the church resumed in-person worship. Sister Lucy and Benjamin were among the first to return to church for worship. Her regular attendance in the church in the past two years was a testimony to her faith in God. She said, “I will honour the Lord by coming to church on the Lord’s Day. God will protect me!”
There was no refreshment fellowship after worship service in the past 2 years as a result of the pandemic. Sister Lucy served in counting tithes and offerings together with Sister Josephine Chee. She did so faithfully.
She was one of the first to register for church camp 2022. The church will miss her dearly. She is with the Lord in heaven. We shall see her again together with all our loved ones and friends who have gone before us. Amen.
Yours lovingly
Pastor Lek Aik Wee
