Proverbs 16:1 The Preparations of the Heart

Proverbs 16:1 (KJV)  The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. 

The LORD guides our thoughts and directs our speech. A man’s life is in the hands of God. Truly, a man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps (Proverbs 16:9).

A man may plan, it is God who directs – Proverbs 19:21 (KJV)  There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. 

Truly, Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way? Proverbs 20:24 (KJV)  

We submit to the higher purpose and power of God in directing our steps. As we seek Him and look to Him, He indeed directs our way for His glory for even the king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Proverbs 21:1 (KJV)
