1 John 5:7 These Three Are One
1 John 5:7 (KJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Here is the witness of Scripture to the Triune God consisting of the Father, the Word which became flesh, the incarnation of Christ Jesus and Holy Ghost, before the universe was ever created.
John 1:1-2 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:14 (KJV) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
It was the Triune Godhead that made man in their image!
Genesis 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
One God yet in three distinct Persons is the revelation of the truth concerning the Godhead.
What a privilege to know God and have His image in our being. This marred image as a result of sin was restored in Christ, the incarnate Word.
Praise God for the gift of salvation. Amen.
