1 Thessalonians 5:23 Preserved Blameless Unto His Coming

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

The Lord is returning. There is much going on in the spiritual realm to undo the Christian and disrupt his course of fulfilling God’s will. Looking at the challenge before us can be unsettling. But the Lord assured His disciples that He will endow us with His sanctifying presence so that we have to be preserved unto the day of Christ.

The word “sanctify” here speaks subjectively, of spiritual and moral preparation sanctify, make holy, purify. He purifies us! The Lord Himself will see to it that we are ready, that we are equipped, fortified and strengthened for the day of battle.

Our Lord will wholly prepare us for the day of battle so that we will be kept to behold the day of victory. Jesus Christ is our peace. He purchased our peace by His sacrifice on our behalf on the cross.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 (KJV)  Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
