1 Corinthians 10:17 Partakers of that One Bread

1 Corinthians 10:17 (KJV)  For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ gather for the Lord’s Supper, to remember Christ’s body for our sake and His blood shed for the remission of our sins. We are partakers of the same bread, that one bread, for we are one body in Christ. One understanding concerning the meaning of our Lord’s death and commemorate it the same way for our spiritual nourishment.

The unity of the believers in Christ is well understood as partakers of that one holy communion.

John 6:32 (KJV)  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

John 6:33 (KJV) For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:35 (KJV)  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 6:47-48 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life.

Thank God that we may be partakers of that one bread that is Christ, our Lord. Amen.
