Hebrews 11:1 The Nature of Faith
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
There is a reality to faith. It takes hold of eternal life. This is a reality that faith brings, and a reality that is not comprehended by our physical senses. There is a futuristic element to faith. It brings hope. And a sure hope because this faith is substantive. It brings us to a blessed future with our God.
It enables us to take hold of the truth of God’s Word. We are shown the first example of the Creative Act of God in bringing to existence to the universe.
Hebrews 11:3 (KJV) Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
John 1:1-3 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Faith in the truth of God’s revelation as attested by His written Word. Amen.
