1 John 4:9 We Might Live Through Him

1 John 4:9 (KJV)  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 

Life is given and sustained by Christ, the only begotten Son of God – John 1:4 (KJV)  In him was life; and the life was the light of men. Without Christ, men live in spiritual darkness.

Because God loved us, He would not that we continue to be miserable in spiritual darkness and wickedness, Jesus entered human history to suffer for sin on our behalf – Hebrews 2:9 (KJV)  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 

Because Jesus died, we are redeemed. Because Jesus rose, we are alive through Him spiritually speaking. And this spiritual life that Christ imparts is eternal, once given, it endures forever.
