1 John 2:17 The Will of God Abideth Forever
1 John 2:17 (KJV) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
There is a portion of a man’s life that passes away with great loss. The Apostle John calls this the life after living “the lust”. Man fulfilling his lust will suffer loss in the final equation of life’s evaluation.
But there is a way of life that brings eternal reward. When man live in the will of God according to His Word. This is the stark contrast.
The Apostle Paul explains this well when He calls the life of lust a life built with the flamable foundation of wood, hay and stubble that will be burned away by the judgement of Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:12 (KJV) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1 Corinthians 3:13 (KJV) Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
1 Corinthians 3:15 (KJV) If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
1 Corinthians 3:14 (KJV) If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
May the Lord help His people to abide in His will and bear much fruit. Amen.
