Psalm 86:12 Praise the LORD and Glorify His Name

Psalm 86:12 (KJV)  I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. 

The psalmist’s prayer is that the LORD would guide his footsteps that it may bring honour to Him – Psalm 86:11 (KJV)  Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. 

Not only does he seek the LORD to teach him His way but he may have the grace and strength to obey, putting God’s truth into everyday living. He realised his mortal weakness and pray that God’s fear may fill His heart so that he may understand the truth, and be convicted to walk therein.

Truly, God’s glory follows the quieted soul that waits before Him, guiding and leading and transporting such a one all the way to heaven. All praise to Him. Amen.
