John 14:19 Because I Live, Ye Shall Live Also

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

Jesus speaks of His resurrection from the dead. He will soon go to the cross, crucified to bear the penalty for our sins. He will die on our behalf, bearing the fierceness of God’s wrath upon us. God is holy, His justice demands that sin be fully dealt with.

God’s justice is satisfied by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. After His resurrection, Jesus will appear to His disciples for a period of 40 days before He will ascend to heaven to be seated at the right of the Father. They shall see Him no more, physically speaking.

But He is present with them through the Holy Spirit, imparting spiritual life to us moment by moment. And He is praying for us that we shall not be lost. And He is coming for us that there will be a day of the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the living who lived for Christ. Amen.
