Romans 10:17 Faith Comes By Hearing the Word of God
Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
How precious is the Word of God, extols the Apostle Paul. It brings faith to the hearer. Faith that brings salvation to the lost soul. Faith transports the soul finally to the glory of heaven. Absent in the body, for a man of faith, is to be present with the Lord.
And this faith that comes to the hearer requires a heralder. Someone to bring the Word of God to the ears of the hearer. Quoting the prophet Isaiah, he said, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
The Word of God that goes forth bring salvation to the convicted hearer – Romans 10:8-10 (KJV) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The heart is touched and the mouth gives praise to the Lord Jesus, acknowledging Him as Saviour and Lord. Amen.
