1 John 1:3 Our Fellowship

1 John 1:3 (KJV)  That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 

Spiritual life entails fellowship with God. The Apostle John declared that our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. This fellowship opens us to life with God. This fellowship, he declared, is with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whom he witnessed and testified to us. We are exhorted to receive his witness.

When believers fellowship among themselves, God is in their midst. The fellowship centres around their relationship with Him. Their conversation is upon the truth, purity and holiness, righteousness, sanctification and salvation, and benevolence.

We are thankful that our conversation is Christ-centred, God-focused, and not worldly-minded and man-centred. There is true joy and peace that comes in our fellowship. Amen.
