2 Corinthians 4:16 For Which Cause We Faith Not
2 Corinthians 4:16 (KJV) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
What was the cause for courage amidst physical weakness? 2 Corinthians 4:14-15 (KJV) Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
God works out a great plan in the world centred around His church. For His glory, metes out His redemption plan. And feeble and weak men become a part of that work by which God draws men unto Himself. It is He who supplies the grace needed for the work.
The Apostle Paul admits the limitation of the physical body in the course of time when the body weakens and breaks down, however, his emphasis is on the strengthening of the spiritual man, drawing closer and closer to Him.
And the people of God are to hold fast taking hold of an eternal value system that God designed for our eternal well-being. This is articulated well in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (KJV) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Amen.
