1 John 2:28 Abide in Christ

1 John 2:28 (KJV)  And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 

When we abide in Christ we shall be guided to live for His glory. In such a life, there is no judgment, there is no rebuke. This is to walk in the newness of life. This is to walk in the Spirit. This is the walk of faith. A confident walk.

Since there is no rebuke from God when we bear the Spirit’s fruit, we shall not be ashamed when we meet Him. And the way we abide in Him is to abide in His Word.

As the psalmist well explained in Psalm 1:1-3 (KJV)  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
