Psalm 94:22 The LORD My Defence

Psalm 94:22 (KJV)  But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

The LORD defends His people, God is the rock of our refuge. We can rely upon Him to keep us. The people of God can rely upon Him to protect us.

Psalm 94:1 (KJV)  O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. 

God is infinite, eternal and unchangeable in His justice. The psalmist look to the LORD to vindicate injustices. This is our comfort.

The psalmist cries out to the LORD in Psalm 94:2-3 (KJV)  Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? 

With assurance from the character of God, He waits upon Him – Psalm 94:23 (KJV)  And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
