1 Corinthians 2:12 We Have Received the Spirit Which is of God

1 Corinthians 2:12 (KJV)  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 

By the illumination of the Holy Spirit, the word of God is opened to our understanding. That we might know the things of God. What God has revealed to us in His Word, we receive through prayer and we are given understanding.

How precious it is and delightful it is to understand God’s Word, we know how to order our lives, how to live it for His glory.

Now we have received… What a privilege it is to have the Bible in our hands today. Let us appropriate it, read it, cherish it, meditate and dwell upon it and be strengthened and be made wise to renounce the spirit of this world, to go forth, to proclaim the counsel of God. Amen.
