Psalm 71:5 Thou Art My Hope
Psalm 71:5 (KJV) For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
What is precious to you in your Christian life? The assurance that God is our present help and He is the hope of our future. He holds the key to eternal life. He alone can guide us safely through the course of life.
Proverbs 18:10 (KJV) The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
The hope of the Christian is in the Lord God. The psalmist understood that. He has thought through, he understood who God is. And he has committed himself to His care.
2 Timothy 2:12-13 (KJV) If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
His care for us does not falter. So, the psalmist owned Him as his Lord, his Master. He is wholly given to Him, he understood, there is no other way, there is no better way.
As testified by the Apostle of the Lord in John 6:68-69 (KJV) Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
Amen.
