Psalm 63:1-2 Thou Art My God
Psalm 63:1-2 (KJV) A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
The soul’s need for the Saviour is well articulated by the psalmist David. He understood that nourishment for his soul comes when he draws near to his God. He exclaimed, “Early will I seek Thee.”
He is estranged and alone in the wilderness. And his heart yearns to be in the sanctuary of the Lord to worship Him. And yet, in the middle of nowhere, he felt he was alone. Yet he was not, for God was with him.
As he meditates upon God, he finds strength and comfort so that he may testify in Psalm 63:5 (KJV) My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
Our God is with us, in us, and for us. Let us rejoice and give praise with this understanding so that whatever the circumstance, we may will boldness and confidence come to Him at the throne of grace. Amen.
