1 John 5:13 Believe On the Name of the Son of God

1 John 5:13 (KJV)  These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 

Assurance is given to the believers through the writing of the Apostle John of the truth of the gospel for their salvation. He emphasized faith in the Name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. This is God’s way but salvation is effected. This is the only way to heaven. This is the way to eternal life.

This knowledge is personal and this knowledge is true to the beholder, He knows it because He is in him – 1 John 5:20 (KJV)  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 

There is a change that is very clear, the transformation is unmistakable, the mind is renewed, the old things are passed away and all things become new. What a wonderful Saviour is Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen.
