Deuteronomy 7:6 A Holy and Special People
Deuteronomy 7:6 (KJV) For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
In the sight of God, believers are holy and they are special. They are “holy” because God has set them apart for Himself from the world. The blood of Christ, the Son of God, cleanses them of all sin. Believers are special because God has chosen them unto Himself. They belong to Him. He takes special care and devotes His utmost attention to them.
Luke 12:7 (KJV) But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
This was so when Israel was in bondage in Egypt. The LORD promised to deliver them from their affliction. Israel is declared by the LORD to be His people – Exodus 3:10 (KJV) Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Israel inherited the Promised Land, a land flowing with milk and honey, a very fertile land. Israel was God’s appointed to witness to the world. Israel is called the church in the wilderness. The church is God’s witness today. It started with a remnant of Jewish believers who were with Jesus, the Son of God. The witness of God’s holy and special people now spans many people, and nations.
Thank God for raising His witness in every nation and every people for His glory. Amen.
