Galatians 5:16 Walk in the Spirit

Galatians 5:16 (KJV)  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 

Life with God leading us and we yield to His leading through the Holy Spirit undergirded by the Word of God is powerful. Because life in the Spirit overcomes the lust of the flesh. Sin is shut out and the Holy Spirit enables the Christian to live a holy life.

The phrase “and ye shall not” describes a situation that will never happen. In other words, when we yield to God, the flesh has no sway over us. We are protected and shielded from its incursions and harm.

The believer is therefore exhorted to walk in the Spirit. Take time to meditate and pray upon the Scriptures. Let the Word of God be a conviction in our hearts so that we will leave harm’s way and walk in Jesus’ way, through the strait gate and the narrow way that leads to everlasting life.

Let us partake of the blessings of a spirit-filled life. Amen.
