Psalm 5:3 Will Look Up

Psalm 5:3 (KJV)  My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

The psalmist begins the day with the LORD. He begins the day with prayer. He will look up, heavenward, he understood that help comes from the LORD. He understood that the LORD orders all things and therefore he submitted himself to the LORD’s care.

His prayer was an audible voice in his heart directed to the LORD. He knew that looking up was where the LORD’s mercy would descend upon him. He begs to defer from many around him to have no interest nor understanding in looking up – Psalm 5:7 (KJV)  But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

As he looks up, his heart is put to rest and quiet hope for the salvation of the LORD – Psalm 5:11 (KJV)  But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

Amen.
