Psalm 5:7 I Will Come Into Thy House
Psalm 5:7 (KJV) But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Come to God, and coming back to God is the spiritual posture of an awakened soul. A soul that is deeply aware of its spiritual need. In worship, the believer comes in communion with God, thereby receiving refreshing, nourishing from the fountain of living waters.
It is the LORD that quickens the heart to come to Him and yet, it is a choice of the will. The psalmist affirms, “But as for me, I will come into thy house…” In Israel, God instructed the construction of the tabernacle and later the temple to signify how God’s presence dwells with His people and that God is approached through blood sacrifice.
It points us to God’s mercy in sending His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to save sinners. Jesus was crucified on the cross to save us from our sins. His blood was shed and His body broken for our sake. When Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn into two signifying a new and living way through Christ to come to God! The way that was prophesied comes to fruition when Christ died and rose from the dead on the third day. We come boldly to the Father in heaven through Jesus Christ. He mercifully saved us to grant that access to worship.
Let us humbly acknowledge Christin the fear of God and gratefully come to Him for cleansing and renewal and refreshing. Amen.
