Ephesians 6:14 Stand Therefore
Ephesians 6:14 (KJV) Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
The believer is in constant spiritual warfare. The believer is to stand firm, putting on the belt or girdle of truth, and living in obedience to the Scriptures. The belt is to secure the rest of the body armour in its place. The believer must put it on himself. In other words, God’s Word is to be hidden in His heart, dwelling richly in all wisdom.
John 17:17b (KJV) … thy word is truth.
This is the desire and heart-cry of the Apostle John for the church.
3 John 4 (KJV) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
The breastplate protects the front of the body. The believer can receive this righteousness only by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our righteousness.
Romans 1:17 (KJV) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 5:1 (KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
In other words, we are to live a holy or righteous life so that the enemy Satan cannot put a dent in our armour due to unconfessed sin in our lives.
Amen.
