1 John 4:18 He That Loveth Not Knoweth Not God

1 John 4:8 (KJV)  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 

A child of God is a partaker of His divine nature. He has the Spirit of God indwelling him and God’s love shed abroad in his heart. God’s love is a manifest presence in his life. He loves God and loves His neighbour as himself, bearing the Spirit’s fruit.

On the contrary, one that loveth not, knoweth not God. His sins remain in him and he continues to be in bondage to sin. There is no manifest token of God’s love because there is no true repentance, a true turning away from sin and a turning to Christ.

The character of God is love. Divine love is sacrificial, and unconditional, that will seek to impact by its action for eternity.

Let the love of God prevail for His glory. Amen.
