1 John 1:5 God Is Light

1 John 1:5 (KJV)  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 

When light shines, even the dimmest light penetrates the dark so that darkness is dispelled. God is light, in Him is holiness and purity. In Him, there is not a taint of sin. This light is symbolic of eternal life. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the sole Giver of life. He is called the Light.

John 1:4-5 (KJV)  In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 

John 1:9-13 (KJV)  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 

1 John 1:1-3 (KJV)  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 

The Apostle John testified on Jesus Christ, the true Light who is the Giver of life to all men. This light is the life that Jesus Christ imparts to all who will receive Him. This light is life eternal. Amen.
