1 Peter 2:5 Lively Stones
1 Peter 2:5 (KJV) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Believers are described as lively stones that together consist of the house of God on earth. The Apostle Peter uses the analogy of the Temple that God instructed Israel to build, with the priesthood and the sacrifices to help believers see that they consist not only house of God but a holy priesthood, by their worship and praises, offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
The offering of a holy life consecrated in worship and adoration toward God through Jesus Christ is most pleasing in the sight of God. This is the witness of God on earth today. This is the church of Jesus Christ.
It is upon Jesus Christ as the foundation that the church is built. This is solid and steadfast as Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 7:25 (KJV) And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Amen.
