John 17:16-17 Not of the World

John 17:16-17 (KJV)  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

The believers in Christ are not a part of the world system dominated by the evil one. They have been gloriously delivered by the power of Christ’s atoning blood. They have been set free from the bondage of sin by Christ’s sacrifice on their behalf on the cross. This world is not their home. Christ Himself affirmed this truth.

He sought the people of God to be set apart, sanctified, as salt and light in a decaying and dark world, making a difference. It is through the Word of God that believers are sanctified. It, therefore, behoves the people of God to take time to understand their new identity in Christ. Let their minds and hearts be renewed in Christ to escape the corruption that is in this world, and the lust thereof.

May God’s people do the will of God, for doing so, they are preserved and protected for His glory. Amen.
