Luke 2:30-31 Mine Eyes Have Seen Thy Salvation

Luke 2:30-31 (KJV)  For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

The Word of God opens to us the life of Christ, the Saviour of the world. God has only one plan of salvation, it is through Jesus Christ. And this gospel shall be preached to all the world then the end shall come. God is merciful, not willing that any should perish but that all should repent.

This text gives the testimony of Simeon who saw Christ and introduces Him to posterity – Luke 2:25-26 (KJV)  And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Luke 2:27-29 (KJV)  And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

Simeon rejoices to see the Christ whom he trusts. He was so happy for he knew that in Christ, he has eternal life, in Christ is fullness of peace and joy. May this be our portion too. Amen.
