Ephesians 1:18 Understanding Being Enlightened

Ephesians 1:18 (KJV)  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 

Comprehending the spiritual and eternal things is the greatest blessing to be received when the Spirit of God enlightens our understanding. To know why God saved us and how He is preparing and has prepared for us an eternal inheritance that moth and rust, and dust cannot destroy.

Ephesians 1:17 (KJV)  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 

Praying the Lord will help us cherish the eternal and look lightly at the temporal so that our affections are properly aligned to fruitful ends. Truly, the riches of the glory of what God has prepared His people need to be contemplated so that our earthly work has a heavenly end. Amen.
