Luke 9:20 The Christ of God

Luke 9:20 (KJV)  He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. 

Peter witnessed that Jesus is indeed the Christ. And He unashamedly confessed Him whereas the others left after He fed them. Why did the multitude leave and Peter remain? He saw the Deity of Christ, that Jesus is indeed the Son of God.

He saw the power of God manifested in Jesus’ life to authenticate His Deity. We are blessed to believe the witness of Peter and others who confessed that Jesus is the Christ of God. Jesus proceeded from God. He is the One prophesied that would come in the Old Testament Scriptures.

1 Peter 1:8-9 (KJV)  Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
