Psalm 119:18 Behold Wondrous Things Out of Thy Law

Psalm 119:18 (KJV)  Open thou mine eyes so that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. 

The psalmist’s prayer is that the LORD would open his spiritual sight to illuminate the truth of God’s law in his heart. To understand the sense of it and be able to appropriate it for daily life.

What a blessing it is to meditate with a prayer seeking the Holy Spirit to open our understanding of the Scriptures. The two men who met the Lord after His resurrection rejoiced when He opened their understanding that they understood the scriptures.

Luke 24:44 (KJV)  And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Luke 24:45 (KJV)  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 

Luke 24:52-53 (KJV)  And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
