John 2:22 Believing on the Resurrection of Christ
John 2:22 (KJV) When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
What did Jesus say? John 2:19-21 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body.
He spoke of His resurrection three days after His death. The temple was His body. In fact, the Temple was symbolic of the presence of God with His people. And Jesus is the Person of God with His people when He was upon earth.
The disciples believed the Scripture, the words which Jesus had said. This is salvation and eternal life for them.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Amen.
