Colossians 2:6-7 Abounding Therein With Thanksgiving

Colossians 2:6-7 (KJV)  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 

Having received much, God’s people are thankful for the much that has been received. It was the Apostle Paul’s earnest desire that the church in Colosse would be established, rooted and built up in the faith.

Although he has not been to the church, he was concerned for her spiritual progress and the well-being of God’s people and therefore has been praying and now writing this epistle to encourage them in their spiritual walk.

Indeed, a clear sign of spiritual progress is a spirit of thanksgiving. May the church of Jesus Christ be established in all the fullness to His glory. Amen.
