2 Corinthians 5:19 The Word of Reconciliation
2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
The work of redemption was wrought by Christ. In doing so, the world reeling in sin would be opened to a way to be reconciled to God. Sin causes separation between man and God. Christ’s work was to be the sin-bearer. All who come to Christ receive pardon for their transgression.
God is represented by Christ. And man is represented by Christ. He is the Mediator between man and God. Thus, God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself – John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
All who are pardoned by God through Christ, are committed to the work of bringing the word of reconciliation to others yet to find the way of everlasting life. May God’s people be filled with the Holy Spirit to do His good will by sharing the gospel to the lost. Amen.
