Psalm 59:17 Sing Unto the LORD
Psalm 59:17 (KJV) Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
The psalmist speaks of those times of dire persecution and the deliverance that God gave that enabled him to escape the snare of those who are opposed to the will of God.
He would not fret though in utter calamity as he entrusted his well-being to the care of God whom he served – Psalm 59:9 (KJV) Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
He further testified in Psalm 59:10 (KJV) The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
In response to what the LORD did, he sought to praise Him and recommend Him for our following and worship – Psalm 59:16 (KJV) But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
Amen.
