2 Samuel 22:31 His Way Is Perfect

2 Samuel 22:31 (KJV)  As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. 

His saints can trust in Him. His way is perfect. There is no better way than God’s will for our lives. His people can rely upon Him by relying on His Word. The word “tried” means “proven the best”. It is translated as “pure” in Proverbs 30:5 (KJV)  Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 

The word “pure” comes from the verb “to smelt” as the smelting of precious metal to obtain its purest form. God’s Word is therefore to be relied upon by His people for their guidance. And His people to resort to Him will find in Him their “buckler” or “shield”, protecting them forevermore.

Trust in the LORD, come to Him this day and day to day. He will prove Himself to be truly perfect guide now and forevermore. Amen.
