Ephesians 5:20 (KJV)  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 

There is a tendency in times of affliction to become despondent and discouraged thinking that all is lost with calamity confronting in an unexplained way. God’s people are taught to give thanks always for all things unto God.

God does all things well, the Apostle Paul especially highlights, He is our Father in heaven. In other words, our welfare and well-being are utmost in His heart, “ye are of more value than many sparrows”. We are gloriously made in His image to reflect His Person and His glory. Our God works all things to mould us in His image.

He has sent His only begotten Son to win even heaven for us, whatever is a lesser sacrifice than Christ’s sacrifice to bear God’s infinite wrath for our sins. Let us, therefore, give thanks for the good that He works to draw us closer to Him. Amen.
