John 17:2-3 Know Thee The True God

John 17:2-3 (KJV)  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

This was our Lord’s prayer to the Father before going to the cross. His mission is to give His life a ransom for as many as the Father has given Him. By Christ’s sacrifice, all who come to Him receive eternal life and be delivered from eternal death.

John 17:1 (KJV)  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

The Son is sent by the Father so that we can reconciled to the Father through the sacrifice of the Son, Jesus Christ. A redemption plan that we marvel in deep appreciation to the Father who gave the Son, and the Son who came for us. Amen.
