Psalm 119:77 That I May Live

Psalm 119:77 (KJV)  Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight. 

Life is a gift from God and the prolonging of life is by the mercy and power of God. The psalmist speaks of the merciful kindness and tender mercies of God. What are these? They are a combination of the faithfulness and kindness of God to bring good to His people. 

They comfort the psalmist’s heart as he undergoes the rigours of trials that come upon him, and they enable him to press on and live and not falter under the weight of the trouble that befalls him. 

He acknowledged that had not the LORD been communing with him through His Word, he would have languished. Therefore he testified, “Thy law is my delight.”

May God’s Word be the mainstay and strength of His people for they see Him face to face. Amen.
