Lord’s Day, Vol. 11 No. 38
Homegoing of Mr. Boon Kok Fook
Mr. Boon Kok Fook went home to be with the Lord in the afternoon of 16 September 2023. Mr Boon was baptised on 20 December 2020, one year after Mrs Boon was baptised on 29 December 2019.
Testimony of Mr. Boon
By the quiet and consistent testimony of mother Mdm. Foo and siblings Zacchaeus, Zoe and Frances, observed how their new-found faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has changed their way of life.
Grateful for the severe mercies of the LORD in delivering, preserving and healing our mother Mdm. Foo and himself out of many life-threatening situations.
Having tasted the goodness of the Lord Jesus Christ – salvation and deliverance for his wholesome, simple, complete life journey. [Written by Daniel Boon, son of Mr Boon Kok Fook on behalf of his father]
Testimony of Mrs. Boon
Madam Foo, our Mother, came to know the Lord several years ago through the faithful witnessing of believing children. Sisters Suan Sook, Suan Loy had been attending to and witnessing to GrandFather, now deceased, throughout His golden years till his departure in the land of his birth.
Mother, having seen the sovereignty and severe mercies of the Lord in her life and that of her charges, put away ancestry worship and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour. Mother fell while gardening last August. She sustained multiple fractures and was hospitalised. Pastor Lek visited and ministered to both parents.
All siblings especially Suan Wee, Suan Lee along with Suan Sook, Suan Zin & Suan Jeung whose zealous caring and praying, were sustained and uplifted by the Lord granting Mother a gradual and merciful recovery.
Encouraged by the fervent and effectual prayers of the brethren at Blessed Hope BPC, we brought our parents to attend the worship service. Mother sought baptism as a public witness of her faith. Rejoice with us for the abundance of grace given to Mother, “In Him Christ Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the richness of God’s grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
Truly we can do nothing less but kneel before Him in adoration and praise. Give Him the glory to all eternity, Amen.
Written by his son, Mr. Daniel Boon.
Mr. and Mrs Boon regularly attended church camps and Family Day retreats with the rest of the family.
We are often very much encouraged by and we thank God for the faithful attendance of Mr. and Mrs. Boon for worship services to listen to the preaching of the Word of God and to have fellowship with church members and friends, despite their advance age and physical infirmities.
May the Lord comfort the bereaved family of the late Mr. Boon. We remember especially Mrs. Boon and that the Lord may strengthen and keep her during the time of the wake, vigil services and funeral from 17 to 20 September.
Yours lovingly,
Pastor Lek Aik Wee
