Genesis 18:19 He Will Command His Children and Household Him

Genesis 18:19 (KJV)  For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. 

Abraham exercised headship in his home by commanding his children and household to keep the way of the LORD. Abraham is blessed of God because the LORD kept and preserved him and his posterity.

To keep the way of the LORD is the application of God’s laws in everyday living. To do justice and judgment was how Abraham kept the way of the LORD with his family. He refrained his feet from the snare of Sodom, with which the family was kept from destruction when God judged the city.

Walking with God, following His daily guidance, God’s will was done, and His Name was glorified. A blessed life indeed. Amen.
