Matthew 5:6 Be Filled

Matthew 5:6 (KJV)  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

To be filled, we must be fed. To be fed, there must be an appetite to be filled. The spiritual man needs spiritual food, which our Lord calls righteousness. Not just the knowing of God’s Word, but the assenting and the doing of God’s will.

The nourished soul is enabled by God’s grace to fulfil His goodwill. The Lord calls this person “blessed”. This word means “happy, rich”. It is in the plural, the multiplicity of God’s blessing.

Let His people take time to feed upon Him through His Word and find strength in the soul for life. Amen.
