Isaiah 61:10 My Soul Joyful in My God

Isaiah 61:10 (KJV)  I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. 

The salvation of the LORD is described as a garment that clothed the people of God. It is called a robe of righteousness that is placed upon His people by Christ – Romans 5:17 (KJV)  For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 

And this adorning is likened to the adorning of the bridegroom and the bride with ornaments and precious jewels. What a wonderful salvation we receive in Christ.

And with it great rejoicing, with the soul joyful in God – Romans 5:10-11 (KJV)  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
