2 Timothy 4:18 Preserved Unto His Heavenly Kingdom
2 Timothy 4:18 (KJV) And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The Apostle Paul gave thanks to the Lord for His deliverance from every evil work, the darts of God’s enemies – 2 Timothy 4:17 (KJV) Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Like Daniel, the Apostle Paul was sorely persecuted, he described his escape from the mouth of the lion. The lion is a most ferocious animal and he testified that he escaped the mouth of the devouring lion.
Having been delivered, he testified that the Lord will preserve him unto His heavenly kingdom, an entrance into the very presence of the Lord for eternity to come. What a blessed promise, what danger confronts him! Amen.
