Lord’s Day, Vol. 11 No. 52
Give Attendance to Reading
As we prepare to usher in the new year of Grace 2024, the church is watchful of the Lord’s soon return. To prepare our hearts to meet our God, let us endeavour by His grace, to keep close to Him. This is especially aided when God’s people take time to pray and dwell on the Word of God.
To aid us in this holy exercise, the Lord has enabled us to print the Holy Bible without chapters and verses, launched on 13 December 2023 at the church’s first Old Paths Conference.
To aid us along this spiritual journey, we shall seek to read through the entire Bible twice from January 2024 to April 2025. We shall endeavour together as a church to read the Old Testament twice in 2024 and the New Testament twice from January – April 2025.
We shall be distributing the Holy Bible without chapters and verses from today to members and friends who seek to join this spiritual exercise. It will take much prayer, patience and perseverance. The reward cannot be underestimated in God-given prudence, peace and praise.
The Old Testament provides the background and foundation for understanding the New Testament. The Apostles cited the Old Testament in numerous instances to teach the church good doctrines and their applications. A good understanding of the Old Testament will aid us along in better understanding the New Testament books. For this purpose, we shall read through the Old Testament twice for each of the specified periods and specific book(s). As you read, do keep a notebook to record what you understand to be the theme of the message from the Lord and the spiritual emphasis for our admonition and learning.
We shall endeavour to go through these Old Testament books, God willing, during our Sunday Sermons after completing the Book of Joshua in March 2024.
The Bible reading will be chronological starting with the Old Testament:
