Isaiah 63:7 I Will Mention the Lovingkindness of the LORD
Isaiah 63:7 (KJV) I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
Isaiah the prophet makes mention the multitude of the LORD’S love for the house of Israel. He calls it the great goodness that the LORD has bestowed on us. It is worthy of our thanksgiving and praise. The “lovingkindness” affirms the faithfulness, goodness and kindness of the LORD towards His people.
Though undeserved, the LORD’s mercies, that is, His compassion is inexhaustive toward His own. The word “mercy” is from the word “womb”, just as the unborn baby receives nourishment in mother’s womb, such is our LORD’S care for us. That inextricable bond is life-giving and life-sustaining.
Such is the privilege of the life the LORD bestows upon His people, goodness upon goodness. Amen.
